In 2001, Emaar signed agreements with the then Andhra Pradesh government to invest in various projects, including convention centers, hotels, golf courses, and villas in Hyderabad.

Emaar Properties has approached the Telangana government to resolve ongoing disputes regarding its pending projects. In 2001, Emaar signed agreements with the then Andhra Pradesh government to invest in various projects, including convention centers, hotels, golf courses, and villas in Hyderabad.

The company has faced allegations of irregularities in its agreements with the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), which have led to investigations by the CBI and ED. These cases remain under investigation and are still pending in court.
In October 2015, the BRS government established a five-member secretarial committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, to resolve disputes related to Emaar’s projects. The Union Ministry of External Affairs and the Solicitor General of India have also provided recommendations to the Telangana government on this issue.
Officials recently briefed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on all legal matters, including the investigations, charge sheets, and court cases. The CM directed officials to conduct a thorough review of the agreement documents, court case details, and central government recommendations before making any decisions.
The CM ordered the formation of an expert legal committee to assist the existing 2015 committee led by the Chief Secretary in handling the matter. Emaar representatives proposed setting up a legal agency with approval from the UAE government to study and resolve the disputes amicably. The Chief Minister approved the proposal, stating that the government committee would engage with Emaar for further discussions and recommendations.
