Drama to Hide BC Quota Failure: KTR
With local body elections around the corner, Rama Rao warned the public that Congress leaders were preparing to distribute “ill-gotten money” amassed through 20 months of corrupt governance
HYDERABAD: The BRS on Thursday dismissed the Congress’ protests led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Delhi for the 42 per cent quota for the BC community as mere “drama and theatrics” and accused the state ruling party of misleading the people.
Addressing a party meeting at Telangana Bhavan, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao said the Congress had promised 42 per cent reservations with legal backing before the elections and secured votes. “But now, Revanth Reddy says BC reservations will only be granted if Rahul Gandhi becomes Prime Minister. Was this condition mentioned in the BC Declaration,” Rama Rao asked.
He said while former chief minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao went to Delhi “with a mission to secure Telangana statehood and succeeded, can Revanth claim he brought BC reservations from Delhi?”
Rama Rao said Revanth Reddy suffers from “KCR phobia. He cannot stop talking about KCR. It appears Revanth is obsessed with KCR. The Congress government is using the BC reservations issue as a diversion while ignoring other commitments made in its BC Declaration.”
The BRS leader said whenever he pointed to Revanth Reddy’s failures, “he tries to silence me with personal attacks. But the truth is, everything he’s doing — whether with Modi, Rahul Gandhi, or even for Chandrababu Naidu — is pure drama.”
With local body elections around the corner, Rama Rao warned the public that Congress leaders were preparing to distribute “ill-gotten money” amassed through 20 months of corrupt governance. He urged voters to support BRS if they wanted to curb Congress atrocities and ensure officials respond to public grievances.
