Hyderabad: The Khammam police on Thursday arrested a person for duping a retired teacher to the tune of Rs.26 lakh, threatening him in the name of digital arrest in human trafficking and money laundering case.

The arrested person, D Vijay Kumar (22), was a native of Lakkireddipalli village in Annamayya district in Andhra Pradesh. Kumar called the retired teacher from Khammam urban mandal informing that he was allegedly in human trafficking and money laundering case and the Bangalore police would arrest him any time.

Khammam Commissioner of Police, Sunil Dutt said that Kumar allegedly collected Rs.26 lakh from the retired teacher and duped him. On realizing that Kumar duped him, the retired teacher lodged a complaint with the police, who booked a case and arrested Kumar at Lakkireddipalli village.
