Devotees Throng Basar Temple on Vasantha Panchami
Collector initiates Aksharabhysam to her daughter
Adilabad: Large numbers of devotees thronged the Basar Saraswati Temple on Friday to perform Aksharabhyasam for children on the occasion of Vasantha Panchami.
Endowments department principal secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer offered silk clothes to Goddess Saraswati and performed a special puja at the temple.
Nirmal collector Abhilasha Abhinav, along with her family members, visited the temple and initiated Aksharabhyasam for her daughter, followed by a special puja.
Addressing the gathering, Ramaiyer said the state government was preparing a master plan with an outlay of Rs 200 crore for the development of the Basar temple and would make elaborate arrangements for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu. She reiterated the government’s commitment to temple development and said all necessary facilities had been provided for the convenience of devotees.
Meanwhile, the Nirmal collector inspected queue lines and interacted with devotees regarding the arrangements. Devotees began arriving at the temple from midnight and waited patiently in long queues for darshan.
Nirmal MLA Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, Mudhole MLA Ramarao Patel, Bhainsa additional collector Ajmeera Sanketh Kumar, temple executive officer Anjana Devi and others were present.
