Demand for Clay Ganesh Idols in Nizamabad

NIZAMABAD: Ganesh pandal committees in Nizamabad are purchasing idols ahead of the Ganesh Navaratri celebrations from September 14. Kanteshwar, Shivajinagar and other areas in the city witnessed crowds purchasing idols for the celebrations.
Decades-old Ganesh pandals, including Vijay Kisan Munnurukapu Ganesh Mandali and Jawahar Ganesh Mandali in Dua area, are preparing to install idols. Children have also come forward to install Ganesh idols during the Navaratri celebrations.
After the Khairatabad idol in Hyderabad, the biggest Ganesh idol in the state will be installed in Nizamabad, according to the organisers. The Ravi Teja Youth Association is preparing to install a 62-foot clay idol. Artists from Kolkata are making the idol at Pochammagally.
The youth association has been installing Ganesh idols for the past 14 years. This year, the clay idol will be immersed at the same spot after the celebrations. Water pipes will be used for the immersion.
Some Ganesh pandals have already placed orders for idols according to their requirements. Most pandals are directly purchasing idols from artists from Kolkata, who have been staying in Nizamabad for the past six months.
