Delay In Supplying Groceries, Vegetables To Welfare Gurukuls Will Invite Action
There would be "no room for negligence at any stage", the secretary said, and asked welfare societies to coordinate closely.
Hyderabad:Delays in supplying groceries, vegetables and other essentials to welfare Gurukuls, along with poor-quality goods or quantity discrepancies, will invite action, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society secretary Ravi Gugulothu warned on Monday. He directed officials to assign two personnel to every storage point, maintain daily complaint registers and check consignments before acceptance.
Gugulothu issued the directions during a Zoom review of the project management unit (PMU), which oversees supplies to Gurukuls under different welfare societies. Deliveries must follow institutional indents, arrive on schedule and meet prescribed quality standards and officials must immediately return any material that fails inspection, he said.
Zonal and regional officers were asked to inspect storage points regularly and find permanent solutions to recurring problems. The National Federation of Farmers' Procurement, Processing and Retailing Cooperatives of India Ltd (NACOF), responsible for supplies through the PMU, was instructed to follow delivery schedules and provide the required quantities. Advance arrangements must prevent interruptions in groceries and vegetables needed to prepare students' meals. All materials must comply with tender conditions, contractual obligations and government standards.
There would be "no room for negligence at any stage", the secretary said, and asked welfare societies to coordinate closely.
