Hyderabad: Telangana is likely to witness widespread rainfall over the coming days as a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclone on Sunday and further strengthen into a very severe cyclonic storm.

The system is likely to cross the coast between Perupalem and Konaseema on October 28.

East Telangana districts, including Khammam, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Mulugu and Mahabubabad, are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on October 28.

Warangal, Hanamkonda, Suryapet, Nalgonda, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Yadadri-Bhongir and Jangaon districts are expected to receive moderate rainfall on the same day. Other areas, including Hyderabad, may experience light rainfall.

From October 29, Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. The wet conditions may continue until November 3 or 4.
