Cyberabad Officials Inspect Storm Water Drain Works in IT Corridor

They visited FDDI box drain, Malkam Cheruvu, COD junction and BATA junction to review the progress of storm water drainage works.

Both Ramesh and Srijana asked officials to construct catch pits with rectangular duct sections near low-lying areas at FDDI, install MS grills over the catch pits at COD junction, replace RCC catch pit covers with MS grills in front of Bawarchi restaurant in addition to remodeling of the existing storm water drain with a box culvert from MK Eternal mall to Bata Nala.

The officials examined the feasibility of shifting overhead electrical cables to metro pillar supports along the metro corridor. The Commissioner instructed the departments concerned to carry out the works in coordination and complete them within the stipulated timelines.

Earlier, as part of vector control measures, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) carried out Anti-Larval Operations (ALO) across the Corporation to prevent mosquito breeding.

A total of 3,835 houses were inspected, including 910 houses in Serilingampally zone, 698 houses in Kukatpally zone and 2,227 houses in Quthbullapur zone. The municipal staff carried out house-to-house inspections to identify mosquito breeding sources, inspected overhead tanks, sumps, drums, coolers and other water-holding containers.

The staff conducted anti-larval treatment at identified breeding sources, removal of stagnant water from containers and surrounding premises and organized public awareness on preventing mosquito breeding in and around homes.

These activities were undertaken by CMC field teams as part of the corporation's ongoing public health and vector control measures.
