CS Reviews Arrangements for PM’s Visit to TG on May 10
He directed the police to go strictly by the Blue Book while making security, law and order, traffic and bandobast arrangements.
Hyderabad: Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Tuesday reviewed arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Telangana scheduled on May 10, at a meeting with Director General of Police C.V. Anand and senior officials at Secretariat. The Prime Minister is slated to inaugurate several development programmes during his tour and also participate in a public meeting on the same day.
The Chief Secretary assessed the progress of arrangements being made for the Prime Minister’s visit and directed officials of all departments to work in close coordination to ensure a smooth visit. He directed the police to go strictly by the Blue Book while making security, law and order, traffic and bandobast arrangements. He also directed officials to ensure adequate deployment of fire services at the Begumpet airport, helipads and venues of all events, and asked the health department to arrange necessary medical facilities.
Officials from the police, GHMC and roads and buildings departments were asked to inspect roads along the Prime Minister’s convoy routes and complete pending repairs immediately. The electricity department was instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply in all areas to be visited by the Prime Minister.
Emphasising inter-departmental coordination, the Chief Secretary said all departments must work together to ensure the visit is conducted successfully without any lapses.
The meeting was attended by DGP Anand, special chief secretaries Vikas Raj, Naveen Mittal, Dana Kishore and Vani Prasad, home secretary Shikha Goel, Intelligence additional DGP Anil Kumar, the Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri police commissioners V.C. Sajjanar, Ramesh and Sumathi, Fire Services DG Vikram Singh Mann, municipal commissioners R.V. Karnan (GHMC), G. Srujana (Cyberabad) and Vinay Krishna Reddy (Malkajgiri), information and public relations special commissioner Mukund Reddy, and HMWS&SB managing director K. Ashok Reddy.
