NIZAMABAD: Ahead of the forthcoming corporation and municipal elections, Nizamabad Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya on Tuesday reviewed security and Bando bust arrangements with senior officers.

Addressing a meeting at the police commissionerate, he said the elections were crucial for democracy and stressed that the police must ensure a peaceful, free and fair polling process. He directed officers deployed on election duty to strictly enforce the Model Code of Conduct and act impartially without yielding to any political pressure.

The commissioner asked officers to keep a close watch on sensitive areas and take preventive measures to avoid any untoward incidents. He said police action should instil a sense of safety and confidence among the public.

He also instructed officers to respond promptly to complaints, monitor social media to curb the spread of rumours, and maintain law and order throughout the election period.

Stressing coordination and discipline, he said every officer should clearly understand their responsibilities and work together to uphold public trust and the reputation of the police force.
