Hyderabad: Cyberabad Municipal Corporation's Engineering and Monsoon Emergency Teams are carrying out corrective measures at identified and newly observed water stagnation locations across the city.

The action follows after motorists faced several problems because of water-logged drains due to heavy rain that lashed the city on Tuesday evening. It was the traffic police who physically tried to clear the water from the drain and pave the way for motorists to reach their destinations safely.

At Gaffar Nagar, works are underway to remove the iron grill at the water stagnation point to improve stormwater flow. At Vittal Rao Nagar, removal of the existing grating is in progress to facilitate quicker drainage during heavy rainfall events.

At Khajaguda Lake, nala widening works are being taken up to improve carrying capacity and enhance the flow of stormwater. Meanwhile, at the water stagnation point opposite CARE Hospital, teams are engaged in clearing plastic waste and other obstructions to ensure the free flow of rainwater.

The works are being carried out by CMC Engineering and Monsoon Response Teams in close coordination with the Cyberabad Police and Traffic Police, with continuous monitoring of vulnerable locations and implementation of necessary mitigation measures to improve traffic movement and public convenience during rainfall.

Deputy Commissioners, Engineering officials, Monsoon Teams, Police, and Traffic personnel continue to remain on the ground, reviewing field conditions and taking up both immediate and long-term measures to strengthen monsoon preparedness across Cyberabad.
