Congress Maintains Dominance in Telangana Municipal Polls
Party wins majority of declared municipalities; BRS bags six, Forward Block takes Vaddepalli; several towns see hung verdict
The Congress party continues to maintain its dominance in the Telangana municipal elections, emerging victorious in a majority of municipalities where results have been declared so far.
Congress secured wins in Nereducharla, Huzurnagar, Haliya, Kodad, Nandikonda, Chandur, Bhoothpur, Dharmapuri, Bhimgal, Bichkunda, Banswada, Yellareddy, Choppadandi, Sultanabad, Manthani, Husnabad, Maripeda, Dornakal, Narayankhed, Aswaraopet, Station Ghanpur, Andole-Jogipet, Sadasivpet, Huzurabad, Kollapur, Maddur, Pebberu, and Madhira.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) won in Gaddapotharam, Indresham, Aiza, Thorrur, Ibrahimpatnam, and Thirumalagiri.
The All India Forward Block secured Vaddepalli municipality.
Meanwhile, several municipalities witnessed hung results, including Devarakadra, Alampur, Kohir, Kesamudram, Asifabad, Amarachintha, Kythanpalli, Jangaon, Jinnaram, Jammikunta, Vemulawada, and Rayikal.
