Congress Leaders Intensify Lobbying for DCC Posts
Meanwhile, Kondeti Mallaiah, a former TPCC secretary, is in the race for Nalgonda DCC president.
Nalgonda: As the state government gears up for local body elections, ruling party leaders are stepping up their campaigns to secure the District Congress Committee (DCC) presidencies in Nalgonda and Suryapet. In Nalgonda, senior leaders from the former district have intensified efforts to claim these posts. A staunch supporter of roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is also vying for the DCC president’s seat. Having fallen short of the promised nomination post for Mohan Reddy, the minister is personally lobbying to ensure his ally’s appointment.
Meanwhile, Kondeti Mallaiah, a former TPCC secretary, is in the race for Nalgonda DCC president. He previously sought a Congress ticket in the Scheduled Caste reserved Assembly constituency but was passed over, despite backing from senior leader K. Jana Reddy. Now, Mallaiah is redoubling his efforts through every available channel.
In Suryapet, TSTDC official Patel Ramesh Reddy is campaigning for the DCC presidency with the Chief Minister’s support. However, due to a rift between them, former minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy is working to block his bid. Leveraging his connections with the party’s high command, Damodar Reddy is pushing for one of his own supporters to be installed instead.
