Hyderabad: Congress leaders criticised BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao for stating that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will be “hanged” for their failure to fulfil the promises made to the voters during the 2023 Assembly elections.

The war of words continued on Sunday, following BRS’s PowerPoint presentation accusing the Congress of trying to cover its failure by passing on the blame on the previous government.

Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy accused Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao of plotting to grab hold of the party and wishing for the death of BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao. “Unable to digest the people’s governance and out of frustration they are spreading lies about Revanth Reddy. He would never wish for KCR’s death,” said the MP.

Aadi Srinivas, the government whip, said the insecurities of the Kalvakuntla family had increased following Revanth Reddy’s speech in the Legislative Council on December 3. He said that Rama Rao has lost all his senses out of frustration and issuing statements against Rahul Gandhi.

“Rama Rao and Harish Rao are troubled as the mistakes of the past 10 years are being exposed in the Assembly. The Kalvakuntla family, which has been boastful of being Telangana champions are in a state of panic, as their history of corruption is being exposed in the Assembly. Do you wish for the death of the very people who fed you, KTR? No one else has such an evil mentality wishing death for a man (Rahul Gandhi) whose mother (Sonia Gandhi) bestowed you with Telangana,” the Government Whip wondered.

Former Sangareddy MLA and PCC working president T. Jagga Reddy felt that rather than creating hype through PowerPoint presentations at the party office, Harish Rao could have spoken in the Assembly. Countering Harish Rao, he accused the BRS leaders of creating discord between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana again for their political gain.
