Congress Hits Back at KTR Over Remarks
Government Whip Yannam Srinivas Reddy said Rama Rao’s remarks at Warangal had drawn criticism and alleged that his conduct could affect his public image.
Hyderabad: Congress leaders on Thursday criticised BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao over his remarks against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that he was trying to deflect attention from the previous BRS government’s record.
Speaking at the Assembly premises, Government Whip Ch. Vijayarama Rao said the BRS leader was making incorrect claims on farm loan waiver figures. He stated that the Congress government had waived farm loans amounting to ₹20,000 crore, contrary to the figures cited by Rama Rao.
Another Government Whip Yannam Srinivas Reddy said Rama Rao’s remarks at Warangal had drawn criticism and alleged that his conduct could affect his public image.
Fisheries Corporation chairman Mettu Sai Kumar, speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, also criticised the BRS leadership and said the public would respond politically.
He said the government had set up a Farmers’ Commission to address agricultural issues and reiterated support for the farming community.
