On August 5, Congress MPs will raise adjournment motions in both Houses of Parliament to initiate a debate on the delay in granting approval to the bills. On August 6, a dharna will be held at Jantar Mantar, and on August 7, the Congress delegation led by Revanth Reddy is expected to call on President Droupadi Murmu and submit a memorandum seeking immediate assent for the reservation bills.
The TPCC has directed each district Congress committee (DCC) to nominate 25 party workers to take the special train on Monday. The return journey from Delhi is scheduled for the evening of August 7.
“We are hopeful of a positive response,” minister Ponnam Prabhakar said and added that over 100 Congress MPs and national leaders will support the demand. He appealed to BJP MPs to cooperate for early Presidential assent for the Bills passed in the Telangana Assembly.
