Congress Dominance Continues in Final Phase of GP Polls: TPCC Chief
Goud opined that the verdict given by the people stands as a clear evidence of the performance of the Congress government
Hyderabad: TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Wednesday expressed happiness that the Congress party’s dominance continued in the results of the third phase of the 2025 Gram Panchayat elections
He stated that the villages once again crowned the Congress with victory. He opined that the verdict given by the people stands as clear evidence of the performance of the Congress government. Goud said that Congress-backed candidates securing massive victories in the highest number of Sarpanch posts across the State in the third phase of elections is a clear reflection of the rural voters’ confidence in the governance of the Congress government.
Goud remarked that the results of the third phase of elections have come as a slap in the face for the opposition parties and are a signal of a clear change in rural politics in Telangana. He clarified that the Congress party took the panchayat elections very seriously, and that strong, well-coordinated campaign strategies were the main reason behind this victory.
He said that the campaign, which brought ministers, MPs, MLAs and local leaders onto a single platform and extended down to the village level with effective coordination, turned decisively in favour of the Congress.
The TPCC Chief said that this verdict, which mirrors the aspirations of the people, once again proves the satisfaction among rural citizens with the governance of the Congress government.
He stated that the public-oriented governance, welfare and development schemes being implemented over the past two years under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy are clearly reflected in these election results, as their benefits are directly reaching the people.
He said that the public governance model, which harmoniously integrates welfare and development, has created strong confidence among the people. Goud analysed that the government’s commitment to identifying village-level issues and resolving them from time to time has worked in favour of the Congress.
He added that the decisions taken by the Chief Minister and ministers through direct field visits have further strengthened rural voters’ trust in the Congress. He said that the approach of directly engaging with people and striving to resolve their problems is strengthening the party.
Goud stated that the people have endorsed the slogan “Welfare, Social Justice and Development,” and that the sweeping victory of Congress candidates in the Sarpanch elections is a clear symbol of this mandate.
He opined that minorities, Dalits, tribals, women, farmers and youth extending large-scale support to the Congress indicates a new direction in the village governance system, and that social justice has been clearly reflected in the elections. The TPCC president remarked that the manner in which rural people are taking decisions centred on development and welfare is ushering in a new political culture in Telangana.
He assured that this victory has increased the party’s responsibility further, and that the Congress government is committed to accelerating rural development. Goud said that the government will move forward in the direction of strengthening the Panchayati Raj system and transforming every village into a hub of development.
He finally clarified that the results of the first, second and third phases of the Sarpanch elections reflect the favourable atmosphere created at the rural level by the government’s welfare programmes, and that the verdict given by the people will serve as a guiding force for strengthening the Congress party in Telangana.
