Cong Says Kavitha Proved Harish Role, BRS Rallies Behind Harish On Social Media

The BRS chose not to react immediately to Kavitha’s comments but the party’s social media handles lit up soon after her press meet with video clips of Harish Rao with party working president K.T. Rama Rao, and how Harish Rao, the ‘six-foot bullet’ – a favourite expression of BRS president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to describe his nephew – took on the entire Congress government single-handedly in the Assembly during the debate on Justice PC Ghose commission of inquiry report into the Kaleshwaram project’s barrages

HYDERABAD: BRS MLC K Kavitha’s controversial comments that her cousins, former irrigation minister T. Harish Rao and former party MP J. Santosh Kumar, were the brains behind the corruption in Kaleshwaram project and reaped the benefits along with ‘Megha’ Krishna Reddy, has been received with some glee in the Congress, but the Opposition party itself remained silent, at least overtly.

Congress MP Mallu Ravi, responding to a question from reporters, said “the Congress always maintained that the Kaleshwaram project was riddled with corruption. There were always strong suspicions that Harish Rao as the then irrigation minister and others in the BRS were involved in this corruption.”

He added: “Now that Kavitha has made this clear, we thank her for doing so.”

Chandrashekar Rao to describe his nephew – took on the entire Congress government single-handedly in the Assembly during the debate on Justice PC Ghose commission of inquiry report into the Kaleshwaram project’s barrages.

While it is learnt that Rama Rao has been with Chandrashekar Rao since the morning at the latter’s farmhouse in Erravalli, also rushing there were other senior BRS leaders reportedly to discuss the possible fall-out of Kavitha’s trenchant comments on Monday targeting Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar. “Some action, or reaction is likely in a day or two,” a party source said.

In a sign of possible things to come, Kavitha’s public relations officer was removed by the party from the BRS’ social media groups where the party shares information of its, and its leaders’ activities with media organizations. All the updates posted by Kavitha’s aide were also deleted from the groups.
