Hyderabad:Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticised the Congress for opposing the VB-G RAM G Act in the state Assembly. He called their resolution anti-reform and anti-poor. Sanjay Kumar said it clings to a 20-year-old framework that no longer helps the poor.

Sharing his views on his social media platform, he stressed that India needs skills, productivity, and sustainable livelihoods. The minister clarified that reforms to MGNREGA are corrections, not dilutions. These changes aim to shift from leakages to accountability, wage dependency to durable rural assets, symbolism to real empowerment, and inefficiency to outcome-based livelihoods.

Sanjay Kumar highlighted the 60:40 Centre-State funding model, as an example of strengthening cooperative federalism with shared responsibility and better monitoring. True respect for Gandhian philosophy means self-reliance, not permanent dependence, he said.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the focus remains on strong villages, dignified work, and lasting livelihoods, asserted Sanjay.

“If Con is the opposite of pro, isn’t Congress the opposite of progress? That sums up the Telangana Assembly’s opposition to the VB-G RAM G Act,” Sanjay Kumar said.
