Hyderabad: Rashtriya Vanarasena on Monday lodged a complaint with Narayanguda police against Telangana unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) and other individuals for misrepresenting facts related to Maratha Empire founder Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at a public event in connection with his 395th birth anniversary.

The event was conducted at Makhdoom Bhavan in Himayathnagar. A 60-year-old N Ram Reddy from Saidabad and the national president of Rashtriya Vanarasena, an organization committed to the protection of Hindu dharma and temple lands, lodged a complaint with the police.

Reddy took a strong objection to a banner displayed by the CPI Telangana leadership at the event featuring Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s photo along with the content written in Telugu.

He said Rashtriya Vanarasena has been fighting tirelessly for decades at the national level to protect Hindu dharma, preserve temple lands, and protect religious wealth. As part of their endeavor, members of Rashtriya Vanarasena lodged a formal complaint at Narayanguda police station, protesting the unethical distortion of the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by the CPI Telangana State leadership.

A complaint copy was handed over to Admin Sub-Inspector Nagaraju, who informed that after discussing with the higher officials concerned, a complete investigation would be taken up. Legal opinion would be taken before registering a FIR.
