Inflow from Maharashtra and local rains boost storage to 20 TMC, up from 12.3 TMC last year

Nizamabad: Compared with last year, water level and inflows into Sriramsagar project increased. Around 6100 cusecs of water inflows reached the project from neighbouring Maharashtra state and catchment areas in Nizamabad and Nirmal districts. Water flows are witnessed upper river Godavari limits in Nizamabad and Nanded districts.

Presently, water level in Sriramsagar project is 1067.00 feet, against its full reservoir level is 1091.00 ft. Last year on the same day, 12.324 tmc of water available in Sriramsagar project, and now it has touched 20.006 tmc. 672 cusecs of water is stands as outflow, including evaporation losses and drinking water needs under Mission Bhagiratha scheme.

From June 1, 2025, 9.384 tmc of water reached Sriramsagar project as inflows and 2.167’tmc water were released as outflows. Sriramsagar project officials are monitoring with the irrigation department officials of Maharashtra state in the river Godavari.
