Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation— DC File

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) said that it would collect bulk household waste and wooden items every Saturday. Residents can inform the corporation by scanning a QR Code. The CMC urged people to dispose of old sofas, broken furniture and unwanted wooden items by contacting them instead of dumping them on the roadside or in public places.

Elsewhere, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation said it had collected around 5 metric tonnes of floral waste generated during the Bathukamma festivities and transported it to designated composting yards for processing into organic compost. This initiative promotes eco-friendly festival celebrations, responsible floral waste disposal, and the transformation of festival waste into valuable resources, according to GHMC.
