City Police Mark Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

Hyderabad:City police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar presented certificates of appreciation to 72 police officers and personnel in recognition of their exemplary dedication, meritorious service and operational excellence on Saturday at an Independence Day parade at the CAR headquarters here on Saturday. Sajjanar hoisted the National Flag and paid tribute to freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence.

He commended the police for maintaining round-the-clock vigilance and ensuring peaceful, incident-free celebrations during major events, including New Year, Sri Rama Navami, Hanuman Jayanti processions and the recent Ashada Bonalu festival.

Sajjanar recalled the city police work against adulterated food via H-FAST, cybercrime through Opetation Octopus and C-Mitra, India’s first virtual police officer initiative. He said over 1,700 Zero FIRs had e been registered to expedite investigations. He added that the AI Copywriter application is significantly speeding up complaint registration.

For women’s safety, he highlighted the Spandana Instant Protection responder system, launched by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, which is processing an average of 30 complaints daily. Specialised driving training will soon be imparted to 300 female police personnel to boost operational agility.

On narcotics, Sajjanar said the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) has been further fortified to eradicate the drug menace. He warned that strict action would be taken against offenders regardless of their stature.
