CID Officials Examine HCA Records

CID officials, who are probing the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) irregularities case, on Wednesday verified the past records and files of the HCA's administration office and accounts section.

Hyderabad: Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials, who are probing the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) irregularities case, on Wednesday verified the past records and files of the HCA's administration office and accounts section.

A local court on Wednesday granted five-day police custody of the five accused — HCA president Arishnapally Jagan Mohan Rao, CEO Sunil Kante, HCA treasurer Chouti Jagannatha Srinivasa Rao, Sri Chakra Cricket Club general secretary C. Rajendra Yadav, and his wife, Sri Chakra Cricket Club President Kavitha — for questioning in connection with the financial fraud.

The CID officials will on Thursday shift the accused from jail to to their office for questioning.

On Wednesday, a team of CID officers visited the HCA office located at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and verified documents, records, files, and other materials at the administration and accounts sections in connection with the financial irregularities.

It was reported that the CID officials found violations in maintaining proper records for the utilisation of funds amounting to crores of rupees.

Jagan Mohan Rao allegedly misused crores of rupees without any authorised directives. It was also reported that the CID froze several bank accounts related to the HCA due to suspected fraudulent transactions. The CID reportedly recorded statements from officers in the accounts and administration sections as part of the ongoing investigation.
