Hyderabad:The stained glass backdrop and cheerful carols set the stage for the government’s official Christmas celebrations on Saturday at the LB Stadium, the entire venue being decorated in a bright and tasteful manner.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy spoke at the celebration that was attended by leaders of the Christmas community, Bishops for the mainline churches and pastors.

Choirs from different denominations performed at this celebration, the Hyderabad Archdiocese choir mesmerised the audience with the carol ‘O Come, All ye Faithful’. The choristers rendered the classic carol in five languages —Latin, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English.

Divya Prathima, a member of the team, said, “The whole event was of the next level. This was a great opportunity to showcase our music.” Amid carols, Christmas messages, prayers and greetings, the Chief Minister took part in the Christmas cake cutting.

The choir from the United Christmas Celebrations, comprising all churches of the twin cities, rendered carols. This was the biggest stage for their performance, for which they had practice for months.

Joan Rama Rao, Christmas leader, explained, “The Chief Minister’s Christmas programme brings together all the community heads under one roof. The celebrations were held on a high note.” he said.
