China Manja Sale Busted In LB Nagar

Hyderabad: LB Nagar police arrested a 19-year-old student, Konderu Gowtham, for selling banned Chinese manja and seized the material from his possession during a special enforcement operation. Police booked a case under the BNS and the Environmental Protection Act.

Police said the arrest followed information received regarding the sale of the illegal manja. Sub-inspector D. Narsaiah, after approvals, intercepted Gowtham at LB Nagar. During questioning, he confessed that he purchased the material from a shop in Dhoolpet and was planning to re-sell it.

Police said the banned product posed a danger to people, birds, and the environment.
