Hyderabad:The government marked the conclusion of National Road Safety Month with the inauguration of a children’s traffic awareness park at Government Model School, Aliya, one of the oldest educational institutions in the city that was established in 1872.

Following the inaugural by transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar, students participated in road safety activities. The Rs 14-lakh park has been designed to help children learn safe road practices from an early age through practical demonstrations. Highlighting the month-long activities of the transport department, officials said awareness programmes reached nearly 25,000 students in 183 schools across Hyderabad district.
