Jawaharnagar police have filed a chargesheet in the house dacoity case involving a Nepal‑based gang that targeted an elderly couple at their residence in Kowkoor in May. Police are continuing the investigation into the use of an unknown substance to render the victims unconscious and have sent samples for forensic examination.

A senior official told Deccan Chronicle that the accused administered an intoxicating substance to the couple before tying them up and looting their house. Samples have been submitted to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to ascertain its nature and composition.

The accused who administered the substance is still absconding and suspected to be in Nepal. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend him. Any further evidence or arrests, including FSL findings, will be incorporated in a supplementary chargesheet.

The case was registered under BNS sections 310(2), 123, 61(2) and 127(2) — dacoity, administering harmful substances, criminal conspiracy and wrongful confinement — based on a complaint by 68‑year‑old Murali Mohan Narsipuram.

On May 11, the accused entered the house, restrained the couple, tied their hands and legs and threatened them with crowbars before stealing around 60 tolas of gold ornaments, 15 kg of silver articles, $3,000, two mobile phones and other valuables. Six special teams analysed CCTV footage from 255 cameras and conducted searches across India and Nepal.

Police arrested Meena, Rajesh, Daniel Charoh alias Chang and Kiran. Investigations revealed Meena and Rajesh were previously involved in a 2023 house‑breaking case in Moinabad.
