MPs' unity urged for Metro-II approvals
Hyderabad:Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Deputy Speaker Dr Jatoth Ram Chander Naik on Saturday held a joint briefing for Members of Parliament from Telangana, urging them to mount a united effort to secure Central approvals for Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II.
Congress MPs Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, P. Balaram Naik, Kunduru Raghuveer, Dr Mallu Ravi, Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy, Suresh Kumar Shetkar and M. Anil Kumar Yadav and BJP MPs Etala Rajender, M. Raghunandan Rao and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy attended the meeting.
Metro Rail MD N.V.S. Reddy gave a detailed presentation outlining the scope, timelines and funding structure of Phase-II, and addressed queries raised by the MPs. The ministers said that securing swift Central clearance was essential to ease traffic congestion in Hyderabad and strengthen urban connectivity.
