Centre Sanctions Rs.1,110.43 Cr For Telangana Under National Health Mission
Technical and financial support is provided to States and Union Territories (UTs) for strengthening healthcare systems: Union Minister
Hyderabad: The Central government has sanctioned Rs.1,110.43 crore for Telangana in the financial year (FY) 2024-25 under National Health Mission (NHM) as against Rs.564.93 in the FY 2023-24.
This was stated by the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav while replying to a question posed by the Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Reddy asked whether Telangana government has fulfilled all branding norms prescribed under Ayushman Bharat by January 2024 itself and presently effectively operating 5,159 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAM), affording primary healthcare to rural and urban population and has requested for release of Rs. 347.54 crore of NHM - third and fourth quarter Central share for FY 2023-24 under Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to a tune of Rs. 323.73 crore and the 1st quarter NHM grant of 2024-25, for an amount of Rs. 138 crore.
In response, the Union Minister said that under the NHM, technical and financial support is provided to the States and Union Territories (UTs) for strengthening the healthcare systems, based on the proposals received from the States and UTs in their Annual Programme Implementation Plan (PIP) and subject to the available resources.
Based on the proposals received from the States in their Programme Implementation Plan (PIP), approvals are provided keeping in view the resource envelope of the States and UTs as well as existing norms. Release of funds under NHM is subject to compliance by States and UTs of the guidelines prescribed in this regard by Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, he added.
