Vaishnaw: Telangana Yet To Provide Land For Manoharabad–Kothapalli Railway Line
The total length of the project is 151 kms, out of which 76 kms length between Manoharabad-Siddipet has been completed
Hyderabad: Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told the Rajya Sabha on Friday that the state government had not yet provided the required land and cost share for the Manoharabad-Kothapalli railway line, sanctioned on a cost-sharing basis. The project intended to reduce the distance between Karimnagar and Hyderabad.
“The length of the project is 151 km, of which 76 km between Manoharabad and Siddipet has been completed. Work has been taken up on the remaining section, Siddipet-Kothapalli, for which the Government of Telangana must provide land free of cost and share one-third of the construction cost,” the minister said.
He added: “Out of the total requirement of 1,145.6 hectares of land, 1,049.5 hectares have been acquired, and the balance 96.1 hectares is yet to be acquired by the state government.”
He said ₹416 crore out of ₹926.93 crore has been deposited by the state government and the balance stood at ₹511.20 crore. “Execution of the project depends on timely land acquisition and the state’s deposit of its share,” he said.
