Case Registered Against Beerappa Festival Animal Sacrifice

HYDERABAD: Police have registered a case of alleged animal sacrifice during the Beerappa festival at Bairanpally in Dhoolmitta mandal, after a Karimnagar-based animal welfare worker lodged a complaint. The case was registered at the Maddur police station on June 10 under BNS and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The FIR named Lingam Beerla of Bairanpally as the suspected accused.

Sub-inspector Md Ashif registered the case and took up investigation. The FIR states that police received the complaint through a registered post on June 10 and a general diary entry was made on the same day. Police recorded the place of occurrence as Bairanpally, about 10 km north-east of Maddur police station.
