HYDERABAD: Police have registered a case of alleged animal sacrifice during the Beerappa festival at Bairanpally in Dhoolmitta mandal, after a Karimnagar-based animal welfare worker lodged a complaint. The case was registered at the Maddur police station on June 10 under BNS and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The FIR named Lingam Beerla of Bairanpally as the suspected accused.

Police recorded the place of occurrence as Bairanpally, about 10 km north-east of Maddur police station.
