BRS MLA Alleges Congress Attacking BRS Activists After Victory In Elections
Prashanth Reddy said Ranjith sustained serious head injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Nizamabad, where his condition is reported to be critical.
NIZAMABAD: Former minister and BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy strongly condemned the brutal attack on BRS activist Chintakindi Ranjith at Mudelli village in Gandhari mandal of the Yellareddy Assembly constituency.
He alleged that the attack was carried out out of frustration following the decisive victory of the BRS-supported candidate in the gram panchayat elections. According to him, followers of Congress MLA Madan Mohan Rao attacked Ranjith with axes, calling the incident an indelible blot on democracy.
Prashanth Reddy said Ranjith sustained serious head injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Nizamabad, where his condition is reported to be critical.
He said he spoke to the doctors treating Ranjith to enquire about his health condition and the medical care being provided, and requested that the best possible treatment be ensured. He also spoke to former MLA Surender to gather details of the incident and assured that the BRS would stand firmly by the victim’s family. Expressing grave concern over what he described as repeated political attacks in the Yellareddy constituency, Prashanth Reddy questioned how such acts were being emboldened under the alleged patronage of the Congress MLA. He said such incidents posed a serious threat to public safety.
He demanded that the Kamareddy Superintendent of Police take stringent action, immediately register cases against those involved and arrest the culprits without delay.
