BRS Leader Booked for Harassment, Cheating

Hyderabad:Neredmet police have booked BRS leader Jakkula Kiran Kumar following a woman’s complaint alleging deception, assault, caste-based abuse, financial exploitation and criminal intimidation.
According to the FIR, the complainant and Kumar were former colleagues. She alleged that Kumar invited her to join his agency at Defence Colony, Neredmet, as a partner and that the two later entered into a relationship. Kumar, who was already married, allegedly concealed the fact from her.
The woman said she learnt about his marriage later and confronted him, following which Kumar allegedly introduced her to his family as his wife and claimed he would have two wives. No legal marriage, however, was solemnised, she alleged.
She further alleged that Kumar promised her a partnership in the business, prompting her to invest her time, skills and money. She claimed to have raised around ₹30 lakh through borrowings and other financial arrangements and continued to bear the repayment and interest burden.
The complainant also alleged that Kumar assaulted her and her 10-year-old son and forced the child to address him as “Papa”. She accused him of morphing her photographs to tarnish her reputation.
Kumar, his wife Hemalatha Thupaki and sister Bhavani Mudiraj were also accused of caste-based abuse and humiliation. The woman alleged that she was offered ₹3 lakh to leave Hyderabad and was later threatened with death.
Based on her complaint, police registered Crime No. 751/2026 under Sections 69, 74, 79, 115(2) and 351(2) of the BNS and Section 3(2)(v) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Investigation is underway.
