KARIMNAGAR: Union minister of state for home affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has criticised the opposition BRS party, defining it as ‘Bhu Rakshasula Samithi’ and alleging that the party’s 10-year rule saw systematic encroachment of public and private lands.

Speaking at a street-corner meeting as part of the BJP’s election campaign for the municipal elections, at Kothirampur Crossroads in Karimnagar city on Tuesday, Sanjay warned voters that electing the BRS would lead to the loss of their personal properties.

“In their 10 years of power, BRS leaders swallowed every open space. I personally ensured that 46 such leaders, who harassed the poor through land-grabbing, were sent to jail,” he said.

The minister cautioned the public that if the BRS returned to power in the municipal corporation, “they would not hesitate to encroach upon your homes and grab your gold.”

Sanjay mocked the state government’s financial instability and remarks about the lack of funds. He questioned how the Congress government plans to develop Karimnagar.

“The Congress government doesn't have a single paisa for development. They are struggling even to pay retired employees’ benefits. If they win, where will the funds come from? Do they plan to print fake currency,” he asked.

Sanjay also urged the public to confront Congress leaders regarding the party’s unimplemented ‘Six Guarantees.’

The central minister presented a "Performance Booklet" to the public, challenging his rivals to a debate on development. He highlighted several central initiatives funded through Smart City grants including the transformation of Alkapuri Colony into ‘Mini Banjara Hills’ and the modernization of the Ambedkar Stadium at Ganesh Nagar Road, CC roads, drainage systems, and LED lighting in several divisions.

Sanjay blamed BRS and Congress for stalling the shifting of the local dumping yard despite the Centre sanctioning `50 crore for bio-mining.

The minister sought votes for the BJP candidates, saying that a BJP-led municipal corporation would have a direct line to the Prime Minister’s Office. “PM Modi has assured us that he will provide unlimited funds if Karimnagar elects a BJP mayor.”

Sanjay said he would take all elected BJP corporators to Delhi to meet the PM and secure funds that the state government “cannot provide.”
