Bonalu Buzz Begins As Ujjaini Temple Unveils Schedule
The main Bonalu festival will be celebrated on August 2. The Rangam Bhavishyavani ceremony is scheduled for 8.30 am on Monday, August 3, followed by the Gaja Vahana procession at around 10.30 am.
HYDERABAD: Ashadam Bonalu, the biggest festival in the state, will be celebrated with grandeur this year. On Tuesday, the temple authorities and priests of Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Devasthanam, Secunderabad, presented the schedule of the 2026 Bonalu Jatara events to minister Ponnam Prabhakar.
According to the schedule, the Ghatotsavam (Edurukolu) will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, July 19. The main Bonalu festival will be celebrated on August 2. The Rangam Bhavishyavani ceremony is scheduled for 8.30 am on Monday, August 3, followed by the Gaja Vahana procession at around 10.30 am.
During their interaction with the minister, the temple priests requested the government to make comprehensive arrangements and provide adequate facilities for devotees, as a large number are expected to attend the Ashada Jatara from across Telangana and neighbouring states.
Prabhakar assured them that the government would extend full cooperation and take all necessary measures for the smooth conduct of the festivities. He added that a review meeting with officials and the endowments minister would be convened shortly to finalise the arrangements.
