BJYM Protests CM's Remarks, Activists Detained in Jangaon

WARANGAL: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) staged protests in Warangal and Jangaon districts on Saturday, alleging that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made remarks that insulted Telangana students.

In Warangal, BJYM activists burnt an effigy of the Chief Minister at Venkatrama Theatre Junction under the leadership of district president Erra Golla Bharat Veer. BJP Warangal district president Ganta Ravikumar demanded that the Chief Minister withdraw his remarks, apologise publicly and resign.

In Jangaon, police prevented BJYM leaders and activists from burning an effigy of the Chief Minister, leading to brief tension. Several protesters were detained and shifted to the local police station.

BJYM leaders warned that the party would intensify its agitation across Telangana if the Chief Minister failed to withdraw his remarks and apologise.
