Hyderabad: BJP vice-president and Mahbubnagar MP D.K. Aruna accused BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao of awakening like ‘Kumbhakarna’ after being out of power for two years out, forgetting his decade-long failure while in power to assist the Palamuru region.
Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, Aruna said Rao's outbursts at his Sunday’s press conference as "fresh lies and venom" and questioned his memory. “Work on projects like Nettempadu, Bhima, Kalwakurthy, and Koilsagar are already underway. You boast of the Rajolibanda diversion scheme padayatra, but what justice did the farmers under the scheme get in 10 years," Aruna asked.
She slammed Rao for altering the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme’s detailed project report (DPR) and failing to complete it. "You spent lakhs of crores on the corrupt Kaleshwaram but ignored Palamuru,” she said and also accused the former chief minister of failing to safeguard Telangana’s river water entitlements.
Aruna attacked the Congress government, accusing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who she noted hails from the Palamuru region, of not completed the PRLIS in two years. She alleged that both Congress and BRS had conspired against BJP's rise, though the Congress and alleged that there was a BJP-BRS alliance.
She demanded that the government revive the original DPR of the PRLIS and submit it to the Centre for approval.
Aruna said that that no one would trust the “moral preachings” of Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha “after remaining silent for 10 years under the shadow of her father.”
