Nalgonda: Irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday alleged that the BJP-led government at the Centre has created fake voters across the country for its political gains in elections.

Unveiling a statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar at the Electricity Employees Association office in Huzurnagar, the minister accused the BJP of disregarding the spirit of the Constitution and trying to weaken democracy to push its own agenda. “We must protect the voting right of every citizen above 18 years of age, as enshrined in the Constitution. The BJP has created lakhs of fake votes while removing Congress supporters from the rolls,” he said.

He recalled that police had arrested Congress leaders when a rally of 300 MPs marched from Parliament to the Election Commission’s office to lodge a complaint on the issue. He added that it was time for people across the country to stand with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has launched the ‘Vote Chori Yatra’ in Bihar.

Later, Uttam Kumar Reddy inaugurated a CT Scan Centre at Huzurnagar Area Hospital, set up at a cost of Rs 3 crore, along with an OP block and parking shed built at a cost of Rs 3.6 crore.

He reiterated that the state government is committed to providing quality healthcare and education. “While the rich can afford treatment in corporate hospitals, it is the government’s responsibility to ensure quality medical services for the poor,” he said.

The minister added that he was working with a mission to make Huzurnagar a leader in education and healthcare facilities in the state.
