BJP MP Arvind Hints at CM Revanth-PM Modi Link, Predicts BJP Switch
BJP MP says Telangana CM may join saffron party
Hyderabad: BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind stirred controversy on Monday by suggesting that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy may have a special "link" with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hinting that the Congress leader could follow the path of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, who had earlier joined the BJP from the Trinamul Congress.
Speaking in Nizamabad, Arvind said Prime Minister Modi’s public encouragement to Revanth Reddy to work with him during his recent event in the city pointed to a closer relationship. “There may be a special link between Revanth Reddy and Narendra Modi,” he said recalling the Prime Minister’s “mere se hi judo” remark — a subject of growing speculation.
Arvind drew a parallel with Adhikari, who left Trinamul Congress to join the BJP ahead of the 2021 West Bengal elections and rose to prominence in his new party. “Just as Suvendu switched sides and became chief ministerial material in Bengal, Revanth Reddy could also come to the BJP in the future,” the MP claimed.
The BJP leader also criticised the Congress for not nominating as Chief Minister, long‑standing, trusted party members. He named senior leaders such as Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Duddilla Sridhar Babu as deserving candidates who had stood by the party and should have been considered for the top job.
Arvind accused the state government of neglecting Nizamabad district, saying local issues were being ignored by the ruling administration. He predicted intense, high-tension political atmosphere in the next two years and claimed that the BJP will form the government in the state with a bumper majority.
