BJP Hits Back at Karti Chidambaram over Vegetarian Party Remark
Chidambaram had made the remarks while commenting on the all-vegetarian menu served at the BRICS Summit gala dinner in New Delhi
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP leader Dr. Prakash Reddy has criticised Congress leader Karti Chidambaram over his recent remarks describing the BJP as Hindu vegetarian” party.
Chidambaram had made the remarks while commenting on the all-vegetarian menu served at the BRICS Summit gala dinner in New Delhi.
Reacting to the statement, Reddy said he did not understand the context of Chidambaram’s remarks and asserted that the BJP supports people of all faiths and religions. He said the party does not harbour hatred towards any religion.
Reddy also questioned Chidambaram’s understanding of the Constitution and the Indian legal system, referring to the interpretation of the term “Hindu” in the context of Indian identity and lifestyle.
He further said the BJP represents the interests of Hindus while maintaining that the party is committed to all sections of society.
