HYDERABAD: With polls to the expanded 300-seat GHMC council expected in some months, the BJP is holding a series of meetings to gear up tighten its grip in the city. On Monday, party leaders at a meeting chaired by Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao discussed key civic and institutional issues plaguing the capital.

The session focused extensively on the Congress government's alleged failures and negligence in addressing urban problems, highlighting the state administration's shortcomings in urban development and service delivery. Rao provided directives on actionable strategies for BJP corporators to more effectively raise these issues. He asked corporators to fight for citizens' rights and transparent administration.

Meanwhile, hundreds of BRS activists as well as Bajrang Dal state vice-president Jivan and his supporters joined the BJP.

Citing the appointment of 45-year-old Bihar minister Nitin Nabin as BJP national working president, Rao said this move showcased the party's commitment to harnessing young talent for nation-building and organisational growth.

State media incharge N.V. Subash and Medchal Urban district former president Kanta Raoand other leaders attended the meeting.
