BITS Signs Academic Partnership With University Of Michigan

HYDERABAD: Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, to expand academic collaboration, student exchange and joint research initiatives between the two institutions.
The agreement focuses on cooperation in education and scientific research and is expected to create opportunities for student mobility, internships, faculty exchange and collaborative academic programmes.
According to the institutions, the partnership will explore two-way student exchange and visiting programmes while also supporting faculty development initiatives, including summer teaching opportunities and university immersion programmes. Both universities also plan to identify areas for joint research, knowledge-sharing and academic conferences.
BITS vice chancellor Ramgopal Rao said the collaboration was aimed at strengthening academic exchange and research engagement while creating wider learning opportunities for students and faculty.
University of Michigan provost and executive vice president for academic affairs Laurie K. McCauley said the partnership would support collaborative research and shared learning across campuses while helping students and faculty exchange ideas and broaden perspectives.
The institutions said the MoU reflects a shared focus on international academic cooperation and innovation-driven education.
