HYDERABAD: Two 19‑year‑old BITS‑Pilani Hyderabad students have built an artificial intelligence‑driven platform to tackle one of freelancing’s most persistent hurdles: skilled workers struggling to find the right projects.

Innfill, developed by Vishwaksena Reddy Katukuri and Sharvan Gajula, seeks to connect Indian freelancers with global clients in a structured way. “The problem is not that people don’t have skills,” Katukuri said. “The problem is that they don’t get access to the right opportunities at the right time.”

The founders said many freelancers falter at the starting stage, unable to secure ratings or reviews that help them stand out. Gajula added that trust issues plague both sides: clients worry about reliability, while freelancers fear fake listings and delayed payments.

Innfill uses AI to match freelancers to projects, reducing blind bidding and cutting down the time clients spend sifting through profiles. Payments are held in escrow to protect both parties, and disputes are handled by a support team rather than left unresolved.

The platform, still in testing, has onboarded over 100 freelancers. The duo, who are also upskilling through the institute’s NIAT programme, said balancing college with building trust in their product was their biggest challenge. “Once we focused on AI matching and structured workflows, things started to improve,” they told Deccan Chronicle.
