Bhatti, Uttam Oversee Bharat Summit Prep
Bhatti stated that the summit is rooted in core Congress values of non-violence, truth, justice, democracy and seeks to showcase Telangana as a model for the world
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the state government has decided to hold Bharat Summit 2025 at HICC in Hyderabad for two days from Friday to showcase Telangana as a model of progressive thinking to the world. He said the summit, aimed at promoting democratic values and inclusive development, will bring together over 450 global delegates including government leaders from more than 100 countries, international think tanks, corporate giants, and parliamentarians.
Addressing the media after inspecting the arrangements for the summit at HICC on Thursday, Bhatti stated that the summit is rooted in core Congress values of non-violence, truth, justice, democracy and seeks to showcase Telangana as a model for the world. He drew parallels between India’s historic non-aligned stance during the Cold War era and the Congress party’s legacy of upholding democratic principles.
“While global superpowers US and USSR were locked in a Cold War in 1970s and 1980s, India under Congress leadership chose the path of non-alignment. Today, we continue that legacy by inviting the world to Hyderabad to discuss and collaborate on global justice and democratic development,” said Bhatti.
Inspired by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s vision of ‘NYAY’ (justice), the two-day event will feature high-level discussions on themes surrounding delivering global justice, with a special emphasis on gender equality, youth empowerment and social equity, Bhatti said.
“A dedicated session will highlight Telangana’s developmental achievements, welfare programmes and resource potential, aiming to put Hyderabad on the global innovation and governance map,” Bhatti Vikrmarka said.
Bhatti Vikramarka, along with minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Congress Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, and TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, reviewed the summit’s final arrangements at HICC Novotel, the official venue, on Thursday. The team inspected the facilities including the Justice Hall, Liberty Hall, Expo Path of Justice Hall and a statue of Mahatma Gandhi spinning yarn on a charkha, symbolically placed opposite the reception to reflect the spirit of the summit.
