Reiterating the government’s commitment to tribal welfare, he urged Adivasis to prioritise their children’s education and said he was fulfilling assurances made during his People’s March padayatra in the region, including releasing funds for the development of the Keslapur temple.
Responding to complaints from Kolam tribals about alleged obstructions by forest officials to Indiramma house construction citing reserve forest and ROFR land issues, the Deputy Chief Minister said a joint meeting of revenue, forest and other departments would be convened to resolve the problems. He also assured that issues relating to ROFR pattas for lands cultivated by tribals would be addressed.
He said the government would provide solar power to pump sets on tribal lands under the Soura Jala Giri Vikasam scheme and asked tribals to make use of the opportunity to develop their lands. He also encouraged a shift from traditional crops to high-yield and profitable crops, suggesting avocado cultivation, and said saplings would be supplied to improve incomes.
Bhatti asked beneficiaries not to panic over temporary obstructions and said the government would stand by them. He laid foundation stones for various development works in Utnoor mandal and interacted with Indiramma house beneficiaries.
As part of the tour, he participated in the housewarming of an Indiramma house owned by Lingampelli Tharamma, inaugurated an Indiramma house at Danthanpalli village, and inspected construction works at Kummari Thanda. He also garlanded the statue of Kumram Bheem at Kolamguda, interacted with Kolam Adivasi leaders and received petitions.
The Deputy Chief Minister laid foundation stones for a Rajiv Gandhi Integrated Residential School and a 33 kV substation at Kummari Thanda. He, along with tribal welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, performed special puja at the Nagoba temple in Keslapur. Mesram clan members felicitated Bhatti, Adluri Laxman and Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju.
Senior Congress leaders, including Bellaiah Naik and Kotnaik Tirupati, DCC president Naresh Jadhav and Gandrath Sujatha, were present. Adilabad Collector Rajarshi Shah and SP Akhil Mahajan supervised the tour.
