Hyderabad:The Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), Telangana, said it had increased its membership by 176 per cent to 47,448 across 1,494 units during 2025–26. BSG chief commissioner M. Dana Kishore and BSG secretary Dr E. Naveen Nicolas who briefed Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Saturday, said significant progress had been made in infrastructure development.

To expand scouting and guiding activities in government schools, a budget of over Rs 25.97 crore has been sanctioned under Samagra Shiksha / PMSHRI. This would support the training of 6,000 Scout Masters and Guide Captains and the implementation of BSG activities in 3,253 government schools, with a projected participation of over 1.28 lakh students. The Governor officially launched the new website of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Construction of a training hall and auditorium at the State Training Centre, Jeedimetla, is expected to be completed by the end of October. The project has received `50 lakh through Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) corporation social responsibility funding and `35 lakh in financial assistance from the Governor.

Officials also informed the Governor that the BSG state headquarters at Domalguda has also undergone extensive beautification and improvement works. In addition, the BSG Model High School at Domalguda was set to receive major infrastructure improvements through a Rs 2.5 crore CSR grant from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), sanctioned with the support of the Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

40 TG Govt. Teachers, Edu Officials Embark On 5-day Study Tour To Vietnam

Hyderabad:Forty government teachers and education officials are embarking on a five-day study tour to Vietnam from Sunday to 17 as part of an educational exchange programme in collaboration with the Vietnam Education Strategy and Policy Institute (VESPI), Hanoi.

The visit is intended to provide the participants with an exposure to Vietnam’s educational practices, with particular focus on learner-centred pedagogy, inclusive education, curriculum implementation, assessment practices, teacher professionalism, performance in the PISA and the effective integration of technology in teaching and learning.

The visitors will participate in academic sessions led by experts from Vietnamese educational institutions, workshops and interactive sessions on contemporary pedagogical approaches. Visits to schools and educational institutions to observe classroom practices and institutional frameworks are also part of the programme.

As per directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the education department is deputing teachers and education officials to different countries to study best practices in education. The participating teachers have been selected through a rigorous process conducted by district-level committees headed by the District Collectors.

Thanu Naik Nangara festival held to mark tribal leader’s legacy


Hyderabad:Tribal community members took out a procession here on Saturday to mark the Thanu Naik Nangara festival, showcasing their traditional culture, songs and dances. The festival was organised in connection with the two-day state conference of the Telangana Girijana Sangham, that began here on Saturday. The event was named after Thanu Naik, a tribal leader who fought in the Telangana armed peasant struggle.

Dornakal MLA Dr Ramchandru Naik, former MLA Julakanti Rangareddy, Additional DCP Ramdas Teja, and Telangana Girijana Sangham state president M. Dharma Naik and general secretary R. Sriram Naik were present. Dr Naik said the participation of tribal artistes was encouraging. Former MLA Rangareddy, paying tribute to Thanu Naik as a tribal leader who fought valiantly in the Telangana armed peasant struggle and laid down his life, called on the Central and state governments to protect tribal rights. He urged the state government to implement the promises made to tribal communities under the Chevella Declaration.

Sriram Naik said the two-day state conference would adopt resolutions on issues faced by tribal communities in Telangana. He also demanded that a statue of Thanu Naik be installed on Tank Bund in Hyderabad.


Samakhya Chamber of Commerce To Hold Inaugural Samakhya Global Meet 2026 at Hitex on Oct. 14, 15

Hyderabad: The Samakhya Chamber of Commerce will organise the inaugural Samakhya Global Meet 2026 at Hitex on October 14 and 15, bringing together over 4,500 business leaders and entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities and forge partnerships.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch the chamber at 10.30 am on October 14. Union minister of state for rural development Kamlesh Paswan will attend the inaugural session. Industries minister D. Sridhar Babu will deliver the keynote address.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, SCC representative T.V.N. Rao said the meet would feature over 110 exhibition stalls, 12 business sessions, 16 industry forums and more than 40 national and international speakers. Delegations from the United States and the UAE were expected to attend.

Discussions would cover defence, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, finance, startups, artificial intelligence, biotechnology and women entrepreneurship. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will showcase investment opportunities through stalls and presentations.

Formed through the convergence of Vishwa Samakhya, the Patel Entrepreneurs Network and the All India Telaga Balija Kapu Sangam, SCC aims to promote trade, support MSMEs and facilitate business partnerships. Representatives of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce, Global Patidar Business Organisation and DICCI are also expected to attend and sign MoUs.
