Bathukamma Is A Symbol Of Telangana’s Self-Respect, Says Revanth
The Chief Minister highlighted the unique feature of the Bathukamma festival, worshipping nature with a variety of flowers and also Goddess Gauramma which is a distinctive tradition in the country.
Hyderabad:Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday extended greetings to women and girls on the eve of Bathukamma festival. He wished that the women celebrate the festival of the flowers with great grandeur by reciting songs and organising cultural events during the nine-day period from Engili Poola Bathukamma to Saddula Bathukamma.
The Chief Minister highlighted the unique feature of the Bathukamma festival, worshipping nature with a variety of flowers and also Goddess Gauramma which is a distinctive tradition in the country.
He said the Bathukamma festival is a true testament to the collective way of life of the people of Telangana and their unity in sharing both joys and sorrows and the festival would showcase the cultural grandeur of the people and the unity of women which embodies numerous social values.
Stating that Bathukamma stood as a symbol of Telangana's self-respect and its time-honoured traditions, the Chief Minister affirmed that the Congress government accorded priority to environmental conservation, in alignment with Telangana's culture of worshipping nature. He also expressed the hope that the Bathukamma celebrations would fill every home with joy and the people of Telangana celebrate the festival with happiness and prosperity.
