Bandi Warns Leaders Against Lobbying For Tickets
“Do not call me or my family members seeking tickets. Anyone trying to exert pressure through such means will lose their chance entirely”: Bandi Sanjay
KARIMNAGAR: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday said the BJP’s primary objective was to hoist the saffron flag across all municipalities in the Karimnagar Parliamentary Constituency, including the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation. He expressed confidence that the BJP would capture the mayor’s post this time. The minister was speaking at a preparatory meeting with party leaders held at a private hotel in Karimnagar district.
Issuing a stern warning to ticket aspirants, Bandi Sanjay said there was no room for lobbying or personal recommendations. He said party tickets would be allotted strictly based on survey reports and the winning potential of candidates. “Do not call me or my family members seeking tickets. Anyone trying to exert pressure through such means will lose their chance entirely,” he cautioned.
He urged aspirants who fail to secure tickets to accept the party’s decision and work for the victory of the official candidate, assuring that loyal workers would be considered for nominated posts in the future. To maintain party discipline, he directed BJP district presidents to issue show-cause notices to leaders involved in internal conflicts or those creating hurdles during the election process.
The minister advised party leaders not to damage their political future by quitting the party in anger, asserting that the BJP would form the next government in Telangana. He criticised both the BRS and the Congress for what he termed a lack of development in urban local bodies, and claimed that recent development works in Karimnagar were funded entirely through Central government grants, with no contribution from the state government over the past two years.
He also flagged concerns over bogus entries in draft voter lists and instructed party workers to conduct door-to-door verification in every ward. He asked them to file immediate complaints if illegal or fake entries were found and to educate people on how a BJP-led municipal corporation could better utilise Central funds for local development.
