Bandi To Distribute 20,000 Bicycles To Class X Students On July 11 Birthday
Funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions, the bicycles will be presented as a gift from Prime Minister Narendra Modi: Reports
KARIMNAGAR: Breaking from the usual birthday celebrations, Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar will mark his July 11 birthday by gifting 20,000 bicycles to Class 10 students in government schools across the Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency.
The programme aims to support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, who often attend special classes after school and struggle to travel to and from school due to a lack of affordable transportation.
Funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions, the bicycles will be presented as a gift from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Distribution will be overseen by the district collectors, who have instructed education-department officials to compile beneficiary lists from each school.
In Karimnagar district, 3,096 students have been identified; in Rajanna Sircilla, 3,841; in Jagtial, 1,137; in Siddipet, 783; and in Hanamkonda, 491. Within Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, 50 bicycles will be allocated to each of its 66 divisions. Additionally, each ward in the municipalities of Huzurabad, Jammikunta, Husnabad, Sircilla, Vemulawada, Choppadandi, and Kothapalli will receive 50 bicycles, while village panchayats will distribute 10 to 25 bicycles per village.
Each bicycle, costing approximately ₹5,000, will bear a photograph of Prime Minister Modi on one side and Bandi Sanjay Kumar on the other. In the first phase, 5,000 bicycles will be distributed, with the remainder to follow across assembly constituencies, mandals, and villages as soon as they arrive.
